PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly seal an organic EL element, even in the organic EL element in which light is radiated from both electrode sides. SOLUTION: A stack 20 is formed on a transparent substrate 1. The stack 20 is composed of a transparent electrode 2, a hole injection/transport layer 3, a light-emitting layer 4, and a cathode 5. The upper surface of the cathode 5 of the stack 20 and the edge surface of the stack 20 are covered with a first sealing layer 6 made of LiF. The outside of the first sealing layer 6 is covered with a second sealing layer 7 made of epoxy resin. |
