PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of defective top end transfer even in the case of using a recording material whose resistance is high such as an OHP sheet and cardboard. SOLUTION: A corona electrifier 17 is provided on the upstream side of an image forming part Pa, and the voltage of a DC component having a polarity reverse to that of toner is applied from the rear face side of a transfer belt 9 by the corona electrifier 17 directly before the recording material P reaches a transfer part T1. The impedance difference between the part of the transfer belt 9 on which the recording material P is placed and the part on which it is not placed is reduced so that potential by which an electric field required at a transfer time is formed is quickly attained (a transfer belt electrifier and an electrifying means). |
