PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a conventional satellite communication system that has deteriorated the maintainability until a later investigation and analysis because it is left unsolved whether a cause to a faulty channel setup resides in an opposite station or in its own station and a station in question is left unsettled resulting in that the reliability of the system is deteriorated. SOLUTION: In a demand assignment multiple access communication system consisting of satellite earth stations called slave stations and of a center station that assigns a satellite channel to a slave station and its opposite station when receiving a communication request signal from the slave station via a satellite channel, when slave stations to which a satellite channel is assigned cannot set up communication, the respective slave stations receive a signal sent by themselves and confirm whether or not the reception is conducted normally before opening the channel. |
