<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce paper using pulp fiber so as to improve fixability of an internal additive for papermaking to pulp fiber and produce paper strong to immersed water from surface and the end face of paper by using the internal additive for papermaking having both of plasticity, or the like, by an organic substance and characteristics such as heat resistance, weather resistance and water resistance by an inorganic substance at the same time. SOLUTION: The paper is characterized by including a modified pulp fiber containing a structure in which the reducing terminals of cellulose which is a unit of pulp fiber or a sixth position of pyranose ring in cellulose skeleton is (are) selectively oxidized and converted into carboxyl group(s) by carrying out oxidation treatment of the pulp fiber.</p> |
