PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photometric device for a camera in which the distance between a photodetector main body and a circuit board is kept constant and a light receiving part faces toward a subject. SOLUTION: This photometric device 27 is constituted of a photodetector 30, a photodetector case 72 and a protector 73. A housing chamber 74 in which the main body 30a of the photodetector 30 is housed, a mask part 75 provided with an aperture 75a to expose a light receiving surface 30b and a catch 76 engaged with the circuit board 66 are integrally formed in the case 72. The main body 30a is inserted to the chamber 74 from an aperture 72a formed on the side surface of the case 72. The connection terminal 30c of the photodetector 30 is fit in a guide groove 80. The catch 76 is locked in a locking hole 79 formed on the circuit board 66. The device 27 is positioned so that the light receiving surface 30b may face to a circuit pattern surface 66a side when the device 27 is held on the circuit board 66.
