<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide liquid crystal display equipment which is capable of good gradation display and easy correction of an electro-optic characteristics of a liquid crystal and its temperature characteristics. SOLUTION: An 8 bit picture signal data is converted to a 10 bit picture signal by accessing to theγcorrection memory 101 in a liquid crystal panel. This 10 bit picture signal is input to a 10 bit digital - analog (DA) converter, converted to an analog signal and the signal is written to each pixel in a display portion. The temperature monitor means 104 is built inside the display panel and the temperature can be read out to an outside by a register as a digital data through a serial interface. Referring the LUT 103 as an external drive circuit to which the temperature characteristics of the electro-optic characteristics of the liquid crystal is stored, a content of the memory is rewritten so thatγcorrection for adapting to the present temperature can be done to the above described memory.</p> |
