OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that an optical waveguide is very expensive because core patterning by plural times of thin film laminations and semiconductor processes is performed and also constitution and a manufacturing method for a new optical waveguide preparing both economical efficiency and performance are indispensable for a spread of optical communication. SOLUTION: A transparent substrate having a groove shaped optical waveguide pattern is stuck to a flat and smooth transparent substrate by an adhesive layer served also as a core material, and the thickness of the adhesive layer is formed into a prescribed thickness or less. Thus, the optical waveguide free from problems practically is obtained.
