PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of automatic adjustment for digital convergence capable of processing an automatic adjustment for a color display tube without any help of operator and without any complex adjusting operation, and also capable of improving a function of image quality adjustment with reducing costs. SOLUTION: In the apparatus of automatic adjustment for digital convergence, a detector (a convergence measuring device) 3 is mounted on a moving mechanism (a biaxial robot) 7, miss convergence amount at a convergence adjustment point is measured by the detector 3, a convergence compensation value is settled based on the obtained convergence amount, and a signal responding to the compensation value is outputted to a convergence compensation circuit 11, so that a convergence responding to the adjustment point is adjusted. Thereafter, an automatic moving operation of the detector 3 to the next convergence adjustment point is processed for whole of convergence adjustment points.
