PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source that accurately maintains the emission and arrangement accuracy of a laser beam, and at the same time arranges a semiconductor laser chip with high density for miniaturizing the light source itself. SOLUTION: A light source 1 is equipped with a plurality of collimater lenses 11, a positioning member 12 that positions the collimater lenses 11 for arrangement, semiconductor laser chips 13 corresponding to the number of the collimater lenses 11, and a retention member 14 that allows each semiconductor laser chips 13 to correspond to each collimater lens for positioning and retaining.
