PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of harmonic currents, harmonic voltages, and voltage fluctuation flicker in a halogen lamp control circuit by combining phase control with PWM control, and to prevent deterioration or malfunctions of the device. SOLUTION: This heater control device has a rectifier for rectifying an AC power source a lamp being lit by the output from the rectifier; a switching means for switching the output voltage from the rectifier; a choke coil for suppressing sharp variations ion current switched with the switching means; a regeneration means or regenerating electromotive current; and a control circuit for supplying the switching means to a halogen lamp by commonly using the phase control and the PWM control. When the lamp is lit, current is increased continuously or by stages for reaching steady state, and when light is turned off, current is decreased continuously or stepwise to the light-off state.
