Set up of distance between object lenses of stereo camera for close-up photography to provide natural impression of distance when viewing images in stereo image frame

Distance between optical axis of right and left object lens is set, taking into account the width of the image areas of the stereo camera and the width of the window of the stereo image frame. Hence the distance (Pi) between the mid points of the object images in infinity on right and left film is 0.7 to 1.2 mm bigger than the distance (Pw) between mid points of right and left windows of the frame (1). A natural impression of distance is achieved when the distance between the optical axis of stereo camera is set so that the distance (Pi) between mid-points of object in infinity is somewhat larger than the distance (Pw) between midpoints of the windows (2R,2L).
