The invention concerns a purified nucleic acid molecule consisting of or comprising a nucleotide sequence coding for the Dac g1 allergen, a derivative or a fragment thereof. The invention also concerns a host having stably incorporated in its genome said nucleic acid molecule for producing recombinant Dac g1 allergen and its use for diagnosing a subject's susceptibility to the pollen of herbaceous plants and in particular Dactylis glomerata pollen and for treating allergies of that type.
