<p>A method and system for providing the means of detecting and re-generating '911' signals in a wireless telephone/data jack is described. This invention provides signaling (106, 107) between a base unit (101) and an extension unit (112) that communicates an extension pick-up detection. The base unit (101) detects a drop in current and sends a signal to the extension unit (112) to drop the current in the extension unit (112). The loop current (109) is checked to determine if the extension unit is off-hook. This invention employs FSK signally of the carrier to communicate an encoded signaling between the base unit and the extension unit.</p> |
