<p>A communications system and a method using the Internet digital network or equivalent network and able to manage simultaneously voice conversations involving at least two clients respectively connected to input and output servers for the respective geographical area, connected together by means of said Internet network, at least one of said clients being a computer terminal able to establish an HTTP session and a voice communications session with the respective server, there also being provided, between said calling client and said receiving client, devices for acquiring, converting into digital form, compressing, packetizing and transmitting a voice signal in both directions, at least one server also comprising a device for converting said voice signal from digital form into a format which can be transmitted on the local telephone network and vice versa.</p> |
