The system for reducing fuel consumption uses air(5) with a high portion of oxygen for the combustion process. The feed of air required for combustion takes place partially or completely through an oxygen concentrator(6). The supply(3) of the oxygen concentrator with outside air is through an integrated filter system or through the air filter system of the engine. Depending upon the construction of the engine or machine the mixing of the air with increased oxygen content and the fuel takes place before or during the combustion.
