The system has first and second heaters (10,14) operated by first and second energy sources (12,16). It also has a detector unit (24) for operational parameters of the system, and a control unit (22) to operate the heaters dependent upon the detected parameters. The control unit is coupled to a setting device (26) to set standard parameters, and the unit operates the heaters dependent upon both parameters. The heaters can be operated by battery, mains connection, fuel source, or heating medium circuit. At least one of the heaters is a PTC device.
