The invention concerns a method for treating liquid loaded with salts or impurities, wherein an installation comprises means (1, 3) for mixing the liquid loaded with salts or impurities in a chamber (2) with a gas such as air, means for subjecting said mixture to the action of a cavitation generator (10) and the driving action about the axis of the chamber, means (11) for next separating the mixture moving away from the axis of the chamber into a vapour-gas mixture and an annular volume of liquid, means (5) for carrying out an electrodialysis of the outer layer of the annular volume of liquid and means (15) for evacuating the inner layer in the brine, and means (13) for next separating by condensation the vapour-gas mixture.
