<p>A method is disclosed to transition from a first still image to a second still image in a computer implemented animation process. The method includes steps of: (A) displaying a first still image (12); (B) outlining at least one shape element of the first still image with a visually distinct outline; (C) fading out the first still image leaving behind the visually distinct outlines that follow and describe the shape elements that were present in the first image; (D) transforming in one or more stages the outlines so as to outline at least one new shape; (E) fading in a second image having shape elements that are outlined by the at least one new shape resulting from the transformed outlines that originated in the first still image; and (F) fading out the outlines, leaving the second still image. The method preferably includes an initial step of reducing an information content of first and second source images to provide the first and second still image.</p> |
