The network includes access points that can access a network providing high bit rate multimedia services via wireless interfaces. Each access point has a coverage area where a mobile subscriber can access high bit rate multimedia services. The mobile subscriber performs service control to the network to pre-designate the access points they will pass and the data they will download while passing the access points. The mobile terminal performs service control to the network providing high bit rate multimedia services to enable the continuous access of the high bit rate multimedia services via a discontinuous radio service. The mobile subscriber cannot access the high bit rate multimedia services when not located within the coverage area of any access point. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a terminal; (b) and a service control.
