The transmission has a frictional force transfer arrangement, an electrohydraulic controller (2), a common pressure supply for application pressure and ratio adjustment and a main pressure valve (20) for regulating system pressure. The controllers's current operating state in relation to its system limits is determined and the volumetric flow received by the controller reduced to counteract slip if there is a danger of inadequate application pressure.
