The invention relates to a ceramic component comprising a base body (1) consisting of a perovskite compound having the following general formula: M<II>xM<III>1-xTi<IV>x+yCo<II>yCo<III>1-x-2yO3, wherein the bivalent metal M<II> is either strontium or barium and the trivalent metal M<III> is a rare earth element, wherein 0 </= x < 0,85; 0 < y < (1-x)/2 and x+y </= 1, and the surface of said component is partially covered by a galvanically applied contact layer (2,3). The invention also relates to the use of said ceramic component. The chemically stable perovoskite compound makes it possible to avoid passivation during the galvanisation process of the contact layer.
