Mixtures of a physiologically acceptable zinc salt with a dipeptide selected from the group consisting of L-carnosine, L-anserine, L-balenine, L-homocarnosine, acid salts thereof and esters thereof at a molar ratio of the dipeptide to the zinc salt of 0.5 or more; and Zinc-supplementary compositions which comprise a zinc complex of a dipeptide alone or a mixture of the dipeptide with the zinc complex at a molar ratio of 0.5 or more.
