A device for emulsifying and separating small quantities of miscible, liquid phases essentially comprises a cover plate (2) which can be tightly connected to a base plate (1), microchannels (4, 4a, 5, 6, 6a) in the form of grooves being formed in the inner surface (3, 3a) of the base plate (1) and/or the cover plate (2). In a mixing section, two microchannels (4, 4a) extend in a wave shape, their paths crossing each other several times. In a follow-on separating section they are united in a common microchannel (5), extending in an essentially straight line. The microchannels (4, 4a, 5, 6, 6a), which are otherwise tightly sealed, can be filled and emptied via inlet openings (8, 8a) and outlet openings (9, 9a). |
