A METHOD FOR SCREENING AND ISOLATING MICROORGANISMS, ESPECIALLY PROKARYOTIC AND EUKARYOTIC CELLS, DISPLAYING AN ANTIGEN

Described is a method for screening an isolating microorganisms, especially prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, displaying an antigen, which method is characterized by the following steps: providing a suspension of a multiplicity of viable microorganisms containing one or more microorganisms, especially prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, displaying at least one type of antigen on their surface, contacting said suspension of microorganisms with a solution containing antibodies, which bind to said at least one type of antigen, incubating said suspension with said antibodies to allow binding of the antibodies to the antigen(s), contacting said suspension of microorganisms with antibody/antigen complexes on their surface with C1q molecules to allow binding of the C1q molecules to the surface located antibody/antigen complexes and isolating viable microorganisms, especially prokaryotic and eukaryotic cel ls, with exhibit C1q molecules bound to an antibody/antigen complex on their surface.
