Thin, flexible, deformable foils (F) of silicon, quartz, glass type or ceramic materials are clamped to the individual component sections (1a.1b) so that an unclamped section deforms under movement between the sections, e.g. caused by pressure (P) applied to the component (1). This deformation is measured by sensors and can for instance be used to measure the pressure.
