A method for preparing a tritium-labeled compound, characterized in that it comprises reacting an organic compound with a hydride reagent in the presence of a solvent and a catalyst; and a tritium-labeled compound prepared by the method. The method allows the introduction of tritium at the last stage of synthesis and thus the preparation of a tritium-labeled compound having a high specific radioactivity.
