<p>A sterol-modified silicone compound which has a melting point as low as 40°C or below, is hydrophilic, has excellent emulsifiability, and is represented by the general formula R1aR2bSiO¿(4-a-b)/2?; and a cosmetic preparation excellent in stability and heat-reserving property which contains the silicone compound. In the general formula, R?1¿s are the same or different and each is C¿1-10? monovalent alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, or fluoroalkyl containing no aliphatic unsaturated bonds; R?2¿ is an organic group represented by the general formula -(C¿p?H2p)O(CqH2qO)r-X (wherein X is the monovalent residue formed by removing the hydroxyl group from a sterol); a and b each is a positive number satisfying the relationships 1.0≤a≤2.5, 0.001≤b≤1.0, and 1.5≤a+b≤2.6; p is an integer of 2 to 6; q is an integer of 2 to 4; and r is an integer of 3 to 200.</p> |
