The present invention relates to methods for preparing a cosmetic compositio n comprising HSA, wherein (a) HSA is obtained from a transgenic non-human animal; and (b) HSA is mixed with a suitable carrier and/or adjuvant. According to a preferred embodiment the invention is directed to a method HS A is obtained from the milk of a lactating bovine. Finally, the invention also relates to the cosmetic composition obtainable according to these methods as well as their use for cosmetic treatment of wrinkles, scars and burn wounds.
