SYNTHETIC RESIN EMULSION AND SEALER COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME FOR RECOATING

A synthetic resin emulsion which is for use as the main component of a sealer composition for recoating and comprises water and synthetic resin particles dispersed therein. The emulsion is obtained by copolymerizing (a) 20 to 99.5 wt.% one or more alkyl (meth)acrylates (at least 50 wt.% of which is accounted for by one(s) in which the alkyl has up to 4 carbon atoms), (b) 0.5 to 10 wt.% ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and (c) 0 to 79.5 wt.% monomer copolymerizable with the ingredients (a) and (b) using an (alkyldiphenyl ether)disulfonic acid salt as an emulsifier. It has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 15 to 50 DEG C, and the dispersed synthetic resin particles have an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.2 mu m.
