The invention relates to an artificial dental prosthesis consisting of a ready-made tooth replacement coping which can be individually adjusted and has an inner cavity (throat) whose internal dimensions are greater than those of a tooth stump on which the coping is to be fixed. Before being placed on the stump the inner surface of the coping is pretreated in such a way that a complementary material adheres to same in an integral manner. Before the space between the coping and stump is filled the stump is provided with an insulating material. The complementary material, preferably a two-component dental plastic or other suitable dental material, is applied to the insulated stump and/or to the inner surface of the coping and the coping is positioned on the stump. After the complementary material has solidified the coping is removed from the stump and the insulation removed from the stump and/or from the inner surface of the coping. Lastly the coping is adhesively fixed to the stump by means of a dental fixing material, preferably a plastic glue. |
