A positioning mechanism of miniature light bulb sockets mainly comprises a holding element having a stepped contoured base and a shell element having a corresponding interior configuration. The stepped base of the holding element in conjunction with the special configured interior of the shell element can prevent the holding element from being inserted into the shell element in a wrong orientation.
