The device comprises a device for printing an image on the work surface of the printer cylinder (1) and a device (2) for developing the work surface of the cylinder. The latter can be moved between work and storage positions and has a base body (3) in which is a slit jet (5) to direct an air blast against the cylinder rotation direction (7). An upstream suction (9) sucks up the air.
