SOLUTION: This sheet double feed preventive device 101 is provided with a sheet detecting member 40 projected to a sheet passing surface 45a for passing the sheets S and retreated from the sheet passing surface by the passing sheets and a double feed preventive member 41 for receiving the tip of the sheets following passing sheets by projecting to the upstream of the sheet detecting member from the sheet passing surface according to retreat operation of the sheet detecting member.
