PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain reduction in throughput, and improve certainty of feeding a sheet at sheet refeeding time after the loss of synchronism of a feed motor is caused. SOLUTION: This sheet feeder for separately feeding a sheet loaded in a sheet loading means 6 one by one by sheet feeding means 7 and 9, is provided with the feed motor 3 for driving the sheet feeding means 7 and 9, a synchronism loss detecting means 2 for detecting the loss of synchronism of the feed motor 3,at sheet feeding time by the sheet feeding means and a control means 1 for controlling rotation of the feed motor 3, and the control means 1 controls the rotation of the feed motor 3 so as to become a rotating speed different from sheet feed starting time when detecting the loss of synchronism by the synchronism loss detecting means 2.
