PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a green onion cutting device for smoothly cutting a stem end without being affected by the number of roots growing on the stem end. SOLUTION: A relatively long root cutting gage 14 is provided outward ranging from the beginning end of stem end carrying means 11 for a green onion 6 to the middle for positioning and placing the stem end including a root and determining the position of the stem end to be cut. A rotary root cutting edge 12 is provided at the cutting position past the root cutting gage 14, located within a preset range. A stem end receiving part 16 is arranged somewhat inward of the rotary root cutting edge 12 for giving cutting resistance to the long onion located at almost the same height as that of the root cutting gage 14. Long onion thrusting and carrying means 26, 27 are provided above the stem end carrying means 11, having at least a length ranging from the middle of the root cutting gage 14 to a position past the rear part of the stem end cutting means 11 for keeping the green onion in position.
