PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roasting apparatus equipped with a rotary drum having chaff discharging holes and a heat source at the central part of the rotary drum, capable of efficiently roasting coffee beans. SOLUTION: This roasting apparatus is equipped with a rotary drum 7 which is equipped with plural chaff discharging holes 7a on a peripheral wall and is installed so as to make a revolving shaft extended in the length direction horizontal and a heater 9 arranged in the length direction at the central part of the rotary drum 7. Coffee beans stored in the rotary drum are roasted by the heater 9 while being stirred according to the rotation of the rotary drum and the chaff of coffee beans produced in roasting is discharged from the chaff discharging holes 7a of the rotary drum 7. A reflecting material 10 is installed on the outside of the peripheral wall of the rotary drum 1 in a mode state to cover the peripheral wall except the lowermost part in the radial direction of the rotary drum 7 along the upper semicircle or longer than it. |
