PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricant readily soluble in water and highly compatible with the human body and instruments. SOLUTION: This lubricant is obtained by emulsifying a mixed liquid comprising 100 pts.wt. of an oil, 2-9 pts.wt. of a surfactant and 10-50 pts.wt. of water; wherein the above oil to be used is e.g. a silicone oil, polybutene,α-olefin, polyalkylene glycol, diester, polyol ester, liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, fatty acid, higher alcohol and the like.
