PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently degrading a chitosan especially having a deacethylation degree of 50-100% so as to have a low molecular weight. SOLUTION: This method is a method for degrading a chitosan having a deacethylation degree of 50-100% so as to have a lower molecular weight using a chitinase produced by Enterobacter strain G-1 (FERM P-3140) and a chitosanase produced by Matsuebacter chitosanotabidus strain 3001.
