PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct ink near-end sensing of an ink and accurate ink absence sensing without requiring precise assembling and regulating operations. SOLUTION: When an ink sensor outputs an ink supply signal OFF (Y of step S1), an ink pump motor is driven (step S2) to supply the ink of an ink container to a printing unit. When a predetermined time is elapsed and the ink sensor outputs ON (Y of step S3). When the container becomes an ink near-end by an output of an ink near-end sensor (Y of step S4), an ink near-end is displayed (step S5). When the sensor does not output the ON even when the predetermined time is elapsed (N of step S3), that is, even when it is judged that an ink supply is not normal and an ink near-end detection signal is output (Y of step S6), an ink absence is displayed (step S7). |
