PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an ferric salt of ethylenediamine-N,N'-disuccinic acid in which the byproduction of insoluble compounds is suppressed, and the ferric salt obtained by the method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an ferric salt of ethylenediamine- N,N'-disuccinic acid in which the pH of the reaction system is controlled in the range of 0.6-4.4 when the ferric salt of ethylenediamine-N,N'-disuccinic acid is manufactured by reacting ethylenediamine-N,N'-disuccinic acid or its salt with an ferric salt in an aqueous solvent. Further, the obtained ferric salt of ethylenediamine-N,N'-disuccinic acid is used as a bleaching agent for treating a photosensitive material.
