PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head capable of efficiently preventing occurrence of density variation. SOLUTION: In the ink jet head, a substrate 1 having an upper face on which a glaze layer 2, a resistor layer 3 and a pair of electrodes 4, 4 are sequentially provided and a top plate 6 having an ink ejecting hole 7 disposed at the resistor layer 3 positioned between the pair of electrodes 4, 4 are provided with a predetermined gap, the gap formed between the substrate 1 and the top plate is filled with ink 8, the ink 8 is allowed to flow therein and ink drops are ejected from the ink ejecting hole 7 by heating energy generated by the resistor layer 3. A projection 2a of which the thickness is greater than that of the electrode 4 is formed at a region between the pair of electrodes 4, 4 and the top face of the resistor layer 3 disposed on the projection 2a is positioned to a portion near the side of the top plate 6 rather than the top face of the electrode 4.
