PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a composite processing device having a carriage head which can prevent removal of an ink ribbon while maintaining a mountable property of a ribbon cartridge. SOLUTION: The composite processing device (1) of this invention comprises a printing head 95 constituted to give an impact on the ink ribbon and the carriage head 96 which can perform a reciprocating motion in a paper-width direction with this printing head 95 arranged. This carriage head 96 includes a head protector 96b to form a pre-determined ribbon path which guides the ink ribbon to the printing head 95, a first ribbon guide 96e which guides the ink ribbon arranged on the head protector 96b from one side, and a second ribbon guide 96g which guides the ink ribbon from the other side and is constituted to guide the ink ribbon to a second ribbon guide groove 96h.
