PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical filter which is capable of subjecting pollutants in road wastewater, sewage, or the like, to good removal treatment and has a simple structure and excellent handleability. SOLUTION: This filter removably received in a treatment vessel 9 which has a circular inner peripheral surface and through which a liquid to be treated is vertically passed, is provided with: a cylindrical body 59; two cover members 64 each of which is formed as a meshy cloth or the like and which are fitted to the upper and lower ends of the cylindrical body 59 respectively; a filter medium 57 received in the cylindrical body 59; an annular elastic water-sealing member 92 fitted to the outer surface of the cylindrical body 59; a water-sealing projecting piece 81 projectingly formed in the outer surface of the water-sealing member 92, wherein when the cylindrical body 59 is received in the treatment vessel 9, the water-sealing projecting piece 81 is pushed against the inner peripheral surface of the treatment vessel 9, to elastically bend the projecting piece 81 and to bring the bent projecting piece 81 into close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the treatment vessel 9; and a pair of handles 101 each attached to the cylindrical body 59 at its upper end.
