PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous emulsion capable of forming a coating layer having oil stain resistance together with a heat-resistant water repellency. SOLUTION: This aqueous emulsion contains a hydrolyzed product of a fluorocarbon silane, a surface active agent, an organomethoxysilane, and an acidic or alkaline aqueous solution as a pH adjuster with which pH of the emulsion is adjusted.
