COMPOSITE MEMBRANE ELEMENT AND MEMBRANE UNIT USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite membrane element which can increase strength and further to obtain a membrane unit using the complex membrane element which can be used for a long period of time. SOLUTION: A spacer 2 is produced by bonding or welding two sheets of plates 2a, 2b placed side by side to a partition wall 2c for forming a space therebetween. The composite membrane element 10 is produced by bonding or welding a finely porous flat membrane 1a to the plate 2a via a nonwoven fabric or a net 3a and bonding or welding a finely porous flat membrane 1b to the plate 2b via the nonwoven fabric or the net 3b. The membrane unit is produced by penetrating a filtrate collecting pipe 21 through a membrane surface of the composite membrane element 10 and making the through section liquidtight.
