PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing menaquinone-7 in a high yield by suppressing the production of ammonia by culturing a bacterium producing the menaquinone-7 using a culture medium obtained from a barley Koji saccharified liquid. SOLUTION: This method for producing the menoquinone-7 is characterized by carrying out the culture of the mold of the genus Aspergillus using barley or/and a pulverized material of the barley as a culture medium, thereby providing a cultured product of the Koji mold, saccharifying the cultured product of the Koji mold to saccharification, thereby affording a saccharified liquid, substantially carrying out a neutralizing treatment of acids contained in the saccharified liquid, feeding the resultant prepared liquid to the culture medium and culturing the bacterium belonging to Bacillus subtilis and capable of producing the menaquinone-7.
