PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize a constant speed running control device at a low cost which is superior in a fail-safe performance suited for a vehicle having an electronic controlled throttle device. SOLUTION: An output from a normally closed switch 8 which becomes OFF in response to the operation of a brake, and an output from an AND circuit 23 which outputs a pulse signal when the switch 8 is ON, are input into a central processing unit 11, and when the switch 8 is turned ON or when the pulse signal from the AND circuit 23 stops, they are determined by a constant speed running control device as a braking condition and the constant speed running control is released. Thereby, the determination to brake can be made by means of the signal processing systems both from the switch 8 and the AND circuit 23. Thus, even when a failure in either of the processing systems occurs, such a problem as the constant speed running control cannot be released is avoided, so that the reliability of the running control device is enhanced. |
