PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a polyamide, especially relating to a production method of an aliphatic polyamide, further in delail, to provide an industrially efficient production method which easily obtains a polymer of a high degree of polymerization. SOLUTION: The production method of a polyamide is to produce a polyamide from a dicarboxylic acid and a diamine, in the presence of a distannoxane catalyst, and further, making an organic solvent which cannot dissolve none of the dicarboxylic acid and the diamine, and the polyamide produced by the dicarboxylic acid and the diamine coexist, making the state mainly a state in which two phases exist, and melt-polymerizing the dicarboxylic acid and the diamine under the atmospheric pressure.
