PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl lactam modified product which is useful and novel in the industry. SOLUTION: The modified product has a coupling structure of a chain having a repeating unit represented by N-vinyl lactam structure (1) with a structure having essentially a structure unit derived from monomer selected from among cyclic imino ether structure, carbonate structure, alkoxysilyl structure or acid anhydride structure.
