PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed method of lubricating oil to a table guide face of a machine tool saving the consumption of the lubricating oil and providing works with superior dimension accuracy. SOLUTION: In this method, the lubricating oil is intermittently fed to the support body guide face of the machine tool having a mechanism for feeding the lubricating oil to the guide face of the support body provided on a bed, and a table having an engagement part positioned by the guide face and slidably supported to the guide, for every prescribed time interval t for a prescribed time t0. This lubricating feed method is characterized in that the optimum feed quantity V0 of the lubricating oil fed to the guide face for a prescribed time to in a specified time T0 when the table continuously reciprocates the guide face of the support body is experimentally found beforehand, the time of the table reciprocating the guide face of the support body in the actual driving of the machine tool is calculated, and the lubricating oil is fed to the support body guide face by a prescribed quantity V0 in the prescribed time t0, when the calculation time becomes time T0.
